Referrers
Occupational therapy assessment and intervention
For individuals whose mental and/or physical health is impacting their ability to function in daily life and work.
Services
I accept referrals from case managers, insurers, employers, charities and other organisations.
Services include, but are not limited to:
Initial assessment and functional evaluation including identification of barriers to daily functioning and employment
Preparation of clear, structured reports including clinical recommendations relating to mental and physical health
Development of treatment plans and provision of ongoing intervention focussed on regaining function
Planning and ongoing involvement in return to work or education
Consultation on work place environments, including reasonable adjustments to support individuals experiencing health or neurodivergence-related challenges at work
Assessment Process
Referrers are invited to make initial contact to discuss the case and ensure there is a clear understanding of the individual’s needs, as well as the scope of input and associated fees.
At this stage, arrangements for the secure transfer of personal information can be agreed, in line with data protection requirements.
Once the referral is confirmed, an initial assessment is arranged to understand the individual’s current situation, functional challenges, and goals.
A report is then provided outlining assessment findings and recommendations.
Ongoing intervention can be offered where appropriate, with review at agreed intervals to monitor progress and update recommendations as needed.
Areas of Experience
While my primary focus in self referred one-to-one work is mental health and neurodivergence, my experience spans a wide range of occupational therapy practice across NHS, local authority and private settings. Therefore I am particularly well placed to work with people experiencing mental and physical health challenges.
I have experience working with individuals whose health is impacting their ability to function in everyday life and work. This includes:
• Difficulties managing daily activities and routines due to mental or physical health
• Challenges with sustaining or returning to work or education
• The impact of neurodivergence on participation in daily life
• Reduced functional capacity following illness, injury, or periods of poor health requiring rehabilitatory approaches
• The need for compensatory strategies to support independence long term, including the provision of equipment, minor and major adaptations
This work spans a wide range of presentations, including:
• Mental health difficulties, from anxiety and low mood through to more complex conditions such as OCD, PTSD and schizophrenia
• Neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD
• Physical health conditions including neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries and other complex or long term health conditions impacting daily functioning
