About Laura
I am an HCPC registered occupational therapist with over 13 years’ experience in the field and a further background in health and social care. I have worked in hospitals and the community across NHS, local authority and private settings with adults (16+) experiencing a wide range of health concerns.
I am interested in exploring with clients how mental health and neurodivergence impacts everyday life and supporting people to re-engage with daily activities, relationships, hobbies and work in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.
Grounded in a person-centred approach my occupational therapy practice is informed by a range of other perspectives including mindfulness, somatic approaches and trauma-informed practice.
I also have interests in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I maintain ongoing professional development and work in line with the standards of relevant regulatory and professional organisations.
Alongside my professional work I have travelled extensively and have a long-standing interest in various forms of meditation. Creativity and dance are also important to me and continue to shape how I experience and understand meaning, expression and wellbeing in everyday life.
